Lwandle Library resumes limited services

18 August 2025

Lwandle Library is still experiencing challenges with the electricity and water supply.

Following the break-in on 11 August 2025, Lwandle Library is still experiencing challenges with the electricity and water supply.

The facility is however able to provide limited services to support the community.

Services available this week (18–22 August) are:
• Study spaces
• Photocopying
• Assistance for children with project books and assignments
• Book returns as normal
• Pre-school outreaches including storytelling and activities

‘Services that are dependent on electricity supply can only be reinstated once the electricity is restored. This includes access to the SmartCape facilities. The City appreciates the community’s patience and understanding as repairs continue to restore normal operations,’ said Mayoral Committee Member for Community Services and Health, Councillor Francine Higham.
